Short Peace is an anthology of Japanese animated films arranged by acclaimed director Katsuhiro Otomo. The first four shorts are linear films, but for the last entry a unique approach was taken. The fifth short was added for Short Peace’s home video launch in Japan, but unlike the other four it is a video game for PS3. Developed by Tokyo Jungle studio Crispy’s, and produced by Suda51, Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day stars the titular high school student by day, and hitman by night. On one evening Ranko gets more than she bargained for as the mark sets off a demonic organization that threatens the lives of her and her friends. Players are tasked to help Ranko quickly escape in this 2D platformer.
Earlier this week Bandai Namco announced that the entirety of Short Peace, including Ranko Tsukigime’s Longest Day, will be headed to North America and Europe as a PlayStation Network exclusive. The anthology is set for a release this spring. No pricing details were shared.
