Ratchet & Clank: Full Frontal Assault Vita Delayed Again

Otherwise known as Ratchet & Clank: Q-force in Europe, the Vita version of Full Frontal Assault is being developed externally by Tin Giant and has been officially delayed again. My friend Greg Phillips, SCEA Producer, reports on the PS Blog that Tin Giant is working round the clock to assure the quality of Ratchet is upheld for the new Spring release window.
Initially, I was shocked to find out that Ratchet & Clank: FFA was not being released simultaneously on both systems, given the fact that it was one of three games marketed under the official “Cross Buy” category. First was PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale which delivered the identical experience on both PS3 and Vita with a simultaneous release. Second, and most recently, was Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time which managed to stick with its first public delay notice. PSASBR was developed by two separate developers while Sanzaru Games handled both the PS3 and Vita versions of Sly 4.
Having said that, people have every right to throw spears [figuratively speaking] at whomever they deem responsible. Maybe Insomniac should have developed the Vita version themselves to assure the quality was there, provide timely updates during development milestones, and develop a familiarity with the Vita so that maybe they could make something unique for it in the future. Maybe Sony was to blame for not insisting Insomniac handle both versions. Ultimately, everyone will blame Tin Giant.
In an effort to quell the raging mob, anyone who has purchased Ratchet & Clank: FFA on PS3 via disc or digitally will be given Ratchet Deadlocked (PSN) for free. This friendly gesture will not be granted until the Vita version finally releases this Spring. Our best advice to you is to put down the pitchforks and start typing, write to Sony, comment on these blog posts, and tell them how these delays and broken promises make you feel.
