In a post on the PlayStation Blog today, Rowan Parker of Q Games revealed that PixelJunk 4AM, the studio’s music creation tool, will be coming out on May 15. That’s pretty soon, right? The game doesn’t have a price yet, but I wouldn’t expect that to remain the case for too long.
Forgotten what 4AM looks like? Here’s a video.
In addition to this news, Rowan also announced that the game can act as a music visualiser for the music already on your console, bringing your music to life with some of the crazy visuals built in to the game.
Also, it was announced that there will be a live beta for PS+ members who own Move controllers, with limited codes going out to the luckier ones. During the course of the Beta, performances will be streamed live from around the world, including DJ Baiyon performing live from Japan. “But Ben”, I hear you ask in my head, “Surely a limited beta means that only people who can play the game will be able to watch it?”. Well, my imaginary friend, Q’s thought of that. A beta of the 4am free viewer will be made available to all PS+ members, so you can at least watch, you lucky sods. The PixelJunk 4am Live Beta will start from May 1st and run for two weeks, with more information soon.
