Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon is a “real world time and weather” game that is coming to PS4 and PS Vita. The game uses the positional features on both devices to take the current weather in the real world and apply it to the game.
Playing as a jumping spider, you can walk on walls and ceilings. Silk threads are also available to players, to draw any shape with the thread to form a web. There are puzzles and mysteries found throughout an abandoned estate for players to solve.
With the “real world time and weather”, different insects may appear depending on what the weather is outside. For example, at night you might find fireflies and crickets, while if it is raining outside, mosquitoes may appear. The real time weather in the game will be activated once you give your permission. Puzzles can even be affected by the time and weather. So to solve some puzzles, you may need to wait until it is daytime, or wait until the rain stops. A weather device is available to players if they are impatient.
Every one of the game’s thirty levels can be played in the four possible conditions. Leaderboards track your game to see who has mastered the deep scoring system in each environment.
Spider: Rite of the Shrouded Moon seems to be a unique take on the puzzle platformer. What do you think of the game? Let us know in the comments.
