WayForward Celebrates 25th Anniversary With Free Mighty Flip Champs! DX

WayForward, the studio that brought the world Shantae and other greats like Contra 4, Double Dragon Neon and A Boy And His Blob turns 25 years old this year. The first phase in their anniversary celebration is a big sale on their self-published titles. While the majority of the studio’s output has been exclusive to Nintendo hardware, there’s still one PlayStation title in the mix: Mighty Flip Champs! DX, and it’s going to be free on the PlayStation Store in North America from March 10-17th. The game is compatible with PSP, PS3 and PS Vita systems.

Launched as a PSP Minis title in 2011, Mighty Flip Champs! DX is a port of WayForward’s Nintendo DSiware title of the same name. The game took advantage of the double screen by solving platforming puzzles through flipping pages. The Minis conversion placed both pages on one screen and earned a perfect score from PSNStores back in 2011.

WayForward’s reboot of the Shantae series, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, is set to be released on PS4, PS Vita and PS3.
