Procedural vs Hand-Crafted in Road Not Taken

While most of Road Not Taken’s puzzles are set to be procedurally generated there are boss and set-piece encounters that are a little less random. In an update on the PlayStation Blog earlier today Spry Fox explained how they balanced the game between both the hand-crafted and the procedural. One thing of note is how sometimes randomly generated content can get old. They aim to tackle this by demonstrating progress through the changing of terrain and through the creation of memorable moments. The puzzles that are hand-crafted aim to be set-piece moments that you’ll remember throughout your playthrough. We also got a new trailer featuring never before seen gameplay.
Road Not Taken is set to release on PS4 and Vita sometime this year.
