Monday’s PSN maintenance adds supports for three portable game activations

Back when the PlayStation Network originally launched in 2006 you were able to activate video game content over five home console, and five portable devices. This meant you did not have to purchase PSN games for each PlayStation device in your house. That changed in late 2011 when Sony downgraded the activation limit to two consoles, and two portables. Now that Sony has three network connected portable devices (PSP, PSVita, and PSVita TV) the company has responded to consumer requests in Japan and will be upgrading the portable game limit to three.
This upgrade will go into effect after Monday’s PlayStation Network maintenance, which is scheduled to run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Pacific Time (12 noon to 5:00 PM Eastern). It appears this will be a global upgrade.
