This week has been huge for new PSN game reveals for PS3, Vita, and PS4. Today comes the official announcement that Joe Danger 1 and 2 are making their way toward the Vita next year. We have been told that they should both be perfect ports of the PS3 versions, possibly with something extra for us waiting at the next announcement.
Joe Danger is what I would call a classic PSN release for PS3 that did well enough on its own to merit a sequel. One that Sean Murray, Managing Director over at Hello Games, says “was the Joe Danger we had in our heads (before the realities of our little team actually getting it finished got in the way).”

Joe Danger made its debut on the PlayStation Network for PS3 in June of 2010. The sequel, Joe Danger 2: The Movie, came to PS3 via PSN in early October 2012 after first being released on Xbox Live Arcade a month prior. The PS3 release came with a bunch of exclusive enhancements including YouTube uploading, and also a DLC pack featuring an optimized version of the original game Hello Games calls Joe Danger Gaiden.
We hope to see all of this and more in the Vita releases. I’m putting my money on a single sku with two games in one OR a backwards compatible Cross-Buy deal whereby if you have the PS3 versions, you’ll get the Vita versions at no charge. This may be unlikely given that it does cost money to develop on a new platform, even if the code is arguably the same.
Motion controls, touch controls, camera functionality…what do you guys think will be included in the Vita version of this classic PSN series?
