Yes, you’ve read correctly. The popular PC game from Ed McMillen (of Team Meat fame) is coming to PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita early next year. Rebirth is being built from the ground up to include new enemies, over 110 items, bosses, playable characters, and expanded gameplay. The port is being handled by the very capable Nicalis (Cave Story+, VVVVVV). The game will also be flaunting a new semi-16-bit SNES style. Check the video to be teased.
Press release feature list, engage:
- Local Cooperative Play
- Competitive Load Outs: For completing the same run for Twitch streams
- 50% Fresh New Content over the original
- 2+ Playable Characters
- New Challenge Runs, and more secret stuff to be announced
For someone like myself who refuses to install Steam and thus misses out on some gems, this is great news. Will anyone else be playing Isaac for the first time, or am I the only fool who has held off for this long?
