PSNStores Weekly Roundup: July 1st – 7th 2013

With Velocity Ultra finally becoming available in North America I spent almost every chance I could playing it this week and I am happy to say that the second time through was even better then when I played it on Minis. If you are still on the fence you can check out Ben’s review of the game, but really this one should be a no-brainer. I also played through the recently released Guacamelee! DLC, which adds a few good challenges to the game and really just makes me want even more Guacamelle! to play. Also I picked up and played a bit of Pinball Heroes: Complete, which while not up to the physics standards of a Pinball Arcade or Zen Pinball, it  has some really interesting PlayStation themed tables and ideas.

In the Live Stream this week Chris played a bunch of games including Farming Simulator, Velocity Ultra, and Hotline Miami, which if you haven’t played yet you should check out my review. While this weeks PSM releases were a bit on the shallow side we got some real exciting news to make up for it. We learned that TACS games will be releasing his side scrolling shooter/RPG title Shuttle Quest soon, Penguin Party will be getting its first DLC pack in the next few weeks, and that the Square Enix published Chaos Rings will be releasing in Japan later this month (and lets hope a NA/EU release won’t be far behind). But the most exciting news is the fact that a Tokyo Jungle spinoff will be releasing on the store next week for the promotional price of $2.99. You can check out the post for some exclusive screen shots and you can definitely expect some footage of the game to appear in next weeks PSM Quick Play.
