Castle of Illusion Behind the Scenes

Throwback time. The team from SEGA Studios Australia and a few of the original producers/designers of Castle of Illusion talk about the challenges and successes of reimagining a classic. Personally, I remember playing and watching this game being played with my brothers for hours on end. That sugar cube swimming level, the rushing water section with the bats, the licorice boss…
For me, the three things they need to get right in this remake are: The jump and butt stomp, the music, and the challenge. Part of the allure of the first game was that it was so ruthlessly difficult, at least to a bunch of youngins like myself and my brothers.
What are your concerns with remakes such as this and Duck Tales?
