If you caught the double meaning in the title above, I applaud you. If you caught the gameplay portion of this premiere trailer for the newly announced Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge, maybe it’s time for that eye exam. The sequel to one of the earliest minis titles from three and a half years ago is destined for PS3 and Vita and we have limit knowledge of gameplay.
I truly despise trailers like this; not exactly a teaser trailer, no where near a gameplay trailer. It finds itself sitting around the “announcement trailer” type. The original Zombie Tycoon PS minis game was a sort of top down time management strategy game with a rather interesting story, but often long winded and cumbersome gameplay. Personally, I enjoyed my time with the original, but not enough to have completed it.
In Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge, you control an army of slow but strong zombies as Oroville Tycoon while his former mentor Dr. Brainhov controls a more agile army of the undead. The game is said to feature an “immersive single player campaign and [a] competitive [online] multiplayer mode.” The multiplayer mode is described as a one-on-one deathmatch whereby one player sends his hordes of the undead over to destroy the other’s base.
What you guys really want to know is that Zombie Tycoon 2 will be a (#YOPO) Cross-Buy purchase unlocking both the PS3 and Vita versions for one currently unknown price. Frima Studios has thoughtfully included Cross-Play between both PS3 and Vita players for the game’s online modes. There is much much more to learn about Zombie Tycoon 2 in the month and a half remaining until the game releases on April 30th. Did you play the original on PSP?
