Today at a press event in London Sony announced that there will in fact be a new look for the PlayStation Store. Launching next week in Europe and on October 23rd here in the States it looks like a lot has changed. Check out these screens courtesy of our friends over at TheSixthAxis:

VG247 is reporting that some of the big changes are coming in the way of how you search for content. The store will now feature a “smart search” which will correct for spelling errors. There will also be ways to narrow down content by price, platform or even which peripherals it supports. Also new to the store is a “carousel” design in which content scroll from the left and right.
Another big plus is that all content for games will be grouped together. So now if you search for something like PixelJunk Monsters you will see all the DLC, the demo, screens and the game on a single screen. Yes it seems that screen shots will finally be making they way to our store (The Japanese store has had them for years and we recently just got them added to the Vita store).
One thing missing so far in all these reports is whether or not we will be able to buy content while away from our devices. I know I would love to see a webstore that I could access from my phone or PC.
Look for more on the new PlayStation Store in the coming weeks.
