PSNStores Weekly Roundup: September 17th – September 23rd 2012

While we learned a few weeks ago that the HD version of Okami was releasing sometime in October for $19.99/£15.99, the specific date was announced this week via the Okami Twitter account. You will be able to finally get your paws on Okami HD (see what I did there…not proud of that) on October 30th in NA and the 31st in EU. It seems date announcements for classic game re-releases are all the rage this week with Sega also announcing October 2nd for the PSN releases of NiGHTS Into Dreams and Sonic Adventure 2. Both games will be priced at $9.99/£6.49/€7.99. We also got word that the newest title in the Sly Cooper franchise, Thieves in Time, will be releasing for both the PS3 and Vita February 5th, 2013 in North America. As one of the Cross Buy entitled games (#yopo) you will be able to get a free Vita copy with the purchase of the PS3 version.
With a bit of detective work (with help of the always informative Hong Kong PlayStation Website) it was found that PS2 classics Grand Theft Auto III and Vice Citywill finally be making its way to PSN along with a multiplayer version of the recently released Starhawk. You can look forward to GTA III and Starhawk this Tuesday with Vice City coming at a later date. Seems PSNStores are not the only ones keeping a look out with a user over on NeoGAF noticing the possible announcement of a new PlayStation store coming in October on the Australian PlayStation site. Hopefully this overhaul will make it easier for all of us to find interesting things to give Sony our money for.
Announced at Sony’s Tokyo Game Show press conference PlayStation Mobile will be launching October 3rd with a very impressive 30 games available at launch ranging from $1.99 to $9.99. That’s a wealth of content coming to PS Certified phones, tablets, and of course the Vita next month.
Three reviews this week for the PS Move party game Lights, Camera, Party!, the Vita version of the virtual pinball platform Zen Pinball 2, and the puzzling adventure game Machinarium.
The newest episode of the PSNStores podcast is now available where you can hear Chris, Curtis, Eric, and Ben talk about “all the games” and even a movie or two. This weeks Sound Shapes Sample Tracks is a little different with all the picks following the theme of being only one screen long (and for past editions you can check out the archive here). Like always we end off with your Global Store Update and a Sneak Peek at next week’s NA update. All of this and more in this edition of the PSNStores Weekly Roundup:
