Tim Schaffer and the team at Double Fine should be at a point in their careers where they can make just about any game they see fit. And it all started with a PS2 generation adventure called Psychonauts. Well written, timeless art design, and ensuing hilarity is what you’ll find if you pick it up on Tuesday, August 28.
Releasing not as an HD remake for PSN, but instead as a PS2 Classics title, Double Fine saw fit to give us the authentic experience. Hopefully you’re on board with these PS2 Classics and haven’t been getting spoiled by all the HD Classics Sony is throwing around.
Ratchet & Clank, God of War, Jak & Daxter, and the Shadow/Ico Collections have all be readdressed with high definition visuals and sound, and trophy inclusion. But why not Psychonauts? That’s really a question for the boys at Double Fine to answer. They most recently released an HD version of Psychonauts on Steam.
Regardless of what version Psychonauts comes as, its finally coming! If you’re like me and haven’t had the opportunity to put Psychonauts through its paces, then this is our opportunity. Will you be picking it up on day one?
