Zipper Interactive announced their next game, a third person military shooter for the PS Vita, named Unit 13 today. A game that focuses on missions that are supposed to elicit a ‘ripped from the headlines’ feel. In it players will take on missions to stop terrorists, drug traffickers, dictators and more in dangerous locations such as the Horn of Africa, the Arabian Peninsula and South Asia.
Of the 36 missions in the game each vary in length ranging from bite-sized play to longer, multi-objective missions. Players will be able to jump in, choose one of 6 classes – Infiltrator, Sniper, Soldier, Technician, Point Man, and Support – and complete a mission on the go. Unit 13 features a non-linear mission structure that lets you take on missions in any order you’d like as well as unlocking harder missions the more you play.
The Live Notification Interface is the game’s way of keeping players connected and up to date on the latest challenges, leaderboards and more. You’ll receive updates on friends passing your high score, updates on the “Daily Challenge” and more. Aside from that you’ll also be able to play co-op with friends and voice chat enabled.
Unit 13 will be available “around the launch” of the PS Vita.
