Escape Plan Looks Delightfully Macabre

Fresh from Sony’s Gamescom press conference comes a new Vita game, from the team at Fun Bits. Previously known for their help on the Fat Princess franchise, they seem to have taken their penchant for comically exaggerated deaths to a decidedly more twisted setting. Playing as Lil and Laarg, who have been captured by some sort of benevolent force and trapped inside a dark labyrinth, you’ll have to solve a variety of kooky puzzles and traps in order to escape.
The game looks to have been inspired by the Chiaroscuro games of late such as Limbo, with a distinctive black and white art style. The game is also going to take full advantage of Vita’s multitouch features, rear panel touch and swipe interfaces. You’ll be squeezing, poking and slapping the guys around, as they attempt to negotiate their difficult surroundings.
Escape Plan looks like it’s going to be a delightfully grotesque jaunt, and I can’t wait to hear more about it as Vita gets ever closer to launch. If we see more games like this announced for the platform, I’ll be truly happy.
