Elevator Action Deluxe Announced

Freshly announced in Famitsu, Square Enix and Taito are remaking the classic arcade game Elevator Action for PSN, and it looks like it’s going to be a pretty good time. Aside from going down the usual remake route of adding some fancy HD visuals and remixed music, Elevator Action Deluxe is set to include offline multiplayer, with both co-op and competitive options thrown in to the mix. Three game types have been announced so far, 1 Door Battle, which has you stealing a file from the single red door that appears on the stage, 8 Door battle, which is the same only with 8 doors. There’s also a death match, which is pretty self explanatory I think.
The cooler aspect of this remake is that it’s being developed by the original Taito staff, and the music is being remixed by Taito sound unit Zuntata, who did the amazing soundtracks to Space Invaders Infinity Gene and Groove Coaster, so you can certainly count on some rocking beats to go up and down to. That sounded dirtier than I thought it would. Elevator Action Deluxe will be out August 31, with no price announced as of yet. Take a gander at the screens for an idea of what to expect when it pops up. Yes, that is a giant robot with a moustache.
