Scarygirl Screens are Arrrrrtsy

Some surprisingly artsy screens popped up today for TikGames’s upcoming Scarygirl game. Based on the Scarygirl graphic novel by Nathan Jurevicious, the game promises to wax surreal when it releases sometime this fall. Scarygirl is abandoned, dressed like a pirate, and wields a tentacle arm. She’s on a quest to find the Tree of Knowledge, and will be aided along the way by her friends Blister the giant octopus and Bunninguru the mystical, kung-fu rabbit.
Bunninguru can be played as a co-op character, too. Scarygirl can purchase new moves and upgrades from traveling vendors. Did you not see the hook at the end of the tentacle? I’m sure that’s going to be fun. Do the screens remind anyone else of Klonoa? I was really into that game for a bit, I hope it plays somewhat similarly.
There’s also a handheld game in the works titled Dr Maybee and the Adventures of Scarygirl. It’s not confirmed that the portable game will be released on the PSN, but given TikCreat’s track record, I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a minis version of the game.
I’m digging the art style in both of the games. Looking forward to checking them out when they come out.
