PomPom Games, the makers of PSminis title Alien Zombie Death, announced that they’re putting out a new game for the PS3. Alien Zombie Megadeath seems like it’s a harder, better, faster, and HDer version of AZD. It’s a platform shmup, which means you should look at this trailer to get a better idea of how it plays:
Holy crap. Did anyone else just love everything he saw? To be honest, I didn’t even know about AZD, so this type of game is new to me. It’s like Mappy met Contra and the two hit it off… hard. Color me excited. Alien Zombie Megadeath releases on June 21st in the US and July 6th in the UK. Prices = £4.99/€5.99/$7.99.
The game features 70 levels, each with a survival variant, multiplayer co-op, and varios game modes, including Bomb Disposal, Space Baby Rescue, JetPack, and Decoy Pods. There are over 280 in-game achievements to unlock as well as a bunch of unlockable space suits. Independant leaderboards for all levels will add to the replayability of the game, I’d imagine. All this from two dudes. Yeah, PomPom is a UK-based developer comprised of Michael Michael and Miles Visman, with some soundwork from James Drabble. Check out the game’s official site for more info.
