ESRB Watch – Burnout Crash!

What do you think of when you think of Burnout? Regardless of what your current thoughts regarding the seminal racing franchise are, EA seems set to challenge them with Burnout Crash! First leaked by the Australian ratings board a while back and now rated E10+ by the ESRB, Crash is a top down racing game with a cartoony aesthetic. So far, it sounds nothing like Burnout, but bear with me, as you will be driving these vehicles into busy intersections, with what sounds like a more full featured version of Burnout 3’s crash mode, only from a new perspective. You’ll be racking up points based on property damage, with multipliers and “vocal encouragement” set to encourage high scores.
The absence of a recognisable crash mode in Burnout Paradise was sorely missed, so here’s hoping that Burnout Crash provides the high octane destruction I’ve been hoping for. Also, the game contains giant lobster monsters, so it’s already clearly a winner in my books.
