Tetris coming to PSN in December

Whilst it was strongly hinted at last February, EA (By way of Joystiq) have finally announced Tetris for PS3. The game is set to get a HD makeover, with sharp 1080p visuals and surround sounds being top of the pecking order. However, the biggest area that Tetris is going to be getting a major upgrade in is the multiplayer front.
Tetris is going to be arriving with online play for up to 6 players competitively, and cooperative play, in which two teams of two take each other on in the Team Battle mode. In this mode, players will be changing styles on the fly, with offensive players tasked with sending lines to the opposition, and defensive of course attempting to clear as many lines as is humanly possible before all hell breaks loose.
Tetris doesn’t have a price, or any date other than “December”, so keep an eye on the site for more news on that front. In the mean time, check out the screenshots dotted around this post. Looks shiny, doesn’t it?
